Ramón Batlles i Fontanet was a Spanish photographer born in Barcelona in 1901 and died in 1983. He was a member of the Agrupación Fotográfica de Cataluña and was influenced by the avant-garde movement of the interwar period. He specialized in portrait photography and became the photographer of high society. His photographs are known for their beauty and elegance. In addition to portrait photography, he also worked in fashion and advertising, producing images for luxury brands such as Myrurgia. He also collaborated with the magazine D’Ací i d’Allà. After the Spanish Civil War, he opened a gallery in Barcelona with Josep Comte i Argimon, but later separated from him. Ramón Batlles is considered one of the most important photographers in Spanish history.
