Biography:
Ricardo Gomez Campuzano was a Colombian painter born on September 25, 1891, in Bogotá. He began his schooling at the Colegio de La Presentation where Sister Inelda instructed him in his first steps of drawing and painting. Being expelled because of bad behavior, he was transferred to the Seminary of Bogotá. His superiors discovered in his notebooks and prayer books a large number of drawings, caricatures, and sketches of his teachers and classmates. The father superior concluded that Ricardo lacked religious voc. He went on to become a renowned painter, known for his portrait, still life, animal, interior, industrial, land-and seascape painting.
