Richard Champion's porcelain factory was established in Bristol, England in the late 18th century. Richard Champion, a Bristol merchant, acquired the patent for hard porcelain in 1772 and began manufacturing tableware in a Neoclassical style. The factory was known for producing high-quality porcelain that was excellent in quality. Richard Champion was born in Bristol in 1743 and began his own trading business in 1767 with a focus on Charles Town, South Carolina. By 1770, he was involved in the pursuit of porcelain manufacture as a supporter of Cookworthy's Plymouth factory. The factory was in operation until 1781 when it was closed due to financial difficulties.
