Rotary Photo Co. Ltd was founded in 1898 in London, United Kingdom as a subsidiary company of Neue Photographische Gesellschaft (NPG). It became Britain's largest producer of photographic postcards and other photographic products. The company was known for manufacturing and publishing Real Photographic Birthday and Local View Postcards, Birthday Folders, Calendars, Showcards and Mass Production of any size of Photographs for Commercial Purposes. The company was acquired by Hoya in 2007 and subsequently merged with the company the following year. In 2011, Hoya spun off the Pentax brand's digital camera business, which was then acquired by Ricoh, leading to the establishment of Pentax Ricoh Imaging (current Ricoh Imaging).
