Biography:
Rubén Maya is a Mexican artist born in Querétaro in 1964. He studied visual arts at the National School of Plastic Arts (ENAP) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and obtained a master's degree in engraving at the Academy of San Carlos, UNAM. He also holds a doctorate in Fine Arts from the UNAM. His work has been offered at auction several times. He is known for his metaphorical and symbolic approach, addressing the confrontation of the psychological shadow of characters and elements in his work. He currently lives and works in Mexico City.
