Biography:
Samson factory, also known as Samson, Edmé et Cie, was a famous porcelain firm founded by Edmé Samson in Paris in 1810. The firm was known for producing high-quality copies or imitations of earlier styles of porcelain, mainly 18th-century European and Chinese and Japanese porcelain, but also earlier styles such as Italian maiolica. The firm did not set out to deceive, but rather to create beautiful and accurate reproductions of ceramics on display in museums and private collections. Edmé Samson was a famous copyist (and perhaps forger) of porcelain and pottery, and his firm was known for its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
