Biography:
Sandra Vázquez de la Horra is a Chilean artist known for her surreal and symbolic drawings. She was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, in 1967 and grew up under the authoritarian regime of Augusto Pinochet. Sandra studied at the University for the Arts in Valparaiso before moving to Santiago at the age of 19 to participate in the Chile Crea movement. Her artwork often combines elements from South American origins with a rich visual culture, resulting in sophisticated pieces that have gained international recognition. She has participated in various exhibitions and museums, including her first U.S. museum solo show at the Denver Art Museum.
