Shirley Patricia Kelly is a British quilter and textile artist, born in Croydon, United Kingdom in 1960. She is known for her mastery of needle turn applique and her ability to create photo-realistic quilts with just fabric and thread. Her quilt 'Puffins' has brought a smile to every visitor who has seen it at the National Quilt Museum. Shirley's quilt 'Remembering Kelly' took her two long years to complete and was inspired by a 'Maiden- Special Weight' race at Atlantic City in 1959. She is also known for her quilt 'Pueblo Rain', which was inspired by a trip to the Pueblo region of Arizona and New Mexico about 25 years ago. Shirley's quilts are part of the collection of The National Quilt Museum.
