Biography:
Antón Sobral is a Spanish artist born on April 4th, 1952 in Marín, Spain. He studied mathematics and later history of art while being involved with the cultural association O Galo during the transition between Francoism and post-Franco Spain. He has been an active member of the Association of Plastic Artists and taught at the Escuela Superior de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales in Pontevedra for many years. Sobral is known for his multidisciplinary approach to art, working with painting, photography, poetry, music, theater, and dance among others. He has participated in over 200 exhibitions across Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and various parts of America. His work often explores themes related to the sea and his hometown, reflecting a deep connection with his roots.
