Biography:
Stanisław Emil Borysowski was a Polish painter, graphic artist, and educator born in Lwów, Poland (now Lviv, Ukraine) in 1906 and died in Toruń, Poland in 1988. He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts and later in Paris. In 1945, he began teaching at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts and in 1949, he became a professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he served as the director of the Department of Decorative Painting. He was a member of the Polish Artists' Association 'Sztuka' and the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. Borysowski's work is characterized by his use of color and form, and his paintings often depict landscapes and figures. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and his work is held in collections in Poland, France, and the United States.
