Biography:

The Greek 'A' Factory, also known as De Grieksche A, was a Dutch earthenware factory based in Delft, Netherlands. It was established in 1658 by Wouter van Eenhoorn in the former brewery known as the 'De Griex A' (The Greek A). The factory was known for producing tin-glazed earthenware painted with colored enamels, and was one of the first Delft producers of Imari patterns. The factory persisted in its fame and popularity throughout the Golden Age of Dutch Delftware, and was managed by members of the Kocks family for over sixty years. The factory produced a variety of items, including plates, jugs, and flower pyramids, and was particularly known for its vibrant translucent glazes and naturalistic styles, often with an element of High Victorian whimsy.
