Tomás José da Anunciação was a Portuguese painter born in Lisbon in 1818 and died in 1879. He was a painter of the Romantic period who specialized in animal painting, standing out in this field. Tomás José Da Anunciação began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 1841 but left in 1847 due to disagreements with his instructor and the school's teaching methods.
