Biography:

Tyna Adebowale is a Nigerian multimedia artist born in 1982. She studied painting at Auchi Polytechnic in Edo state and has gone on to explore video, performance, and installations in her art practice. Her work focuses on queer bodies, stories, and histories, often collaborating with communities around her. Adebowale aims to counter imposed influences and advocate for visibility through her art. She has participated in group exhibitions in Nigeria, the Netherlands, Brazil, Cameroon, South Africa & Ghana, and has attended various workshops and artist residencies. Currently, she is an artist-in-residence at Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam.
