Victor François Tardieu was a French painter born in Orliénas, France in 1870. He is notable for co-founding what is now known as the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. Tardieu's artistic career spanned several decades and continents, with his work being influenced by various styles and experiences.
Tardieu was admitted to the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon in 1887, where he studied for two years.
