Biography:

William Hudson Jr. was an American painter and miniaturist, born in Portland, Oregon in 1787. He was raised in his mother's Catholic faith and was known for his portrait, miniature and landscape paintings. Hudson's father left the family when he was six, and his mother had to depend on welfare to support her children. Hudson's mother was Italian American and his maternal grandfather came from Carlentini, Province of Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. Hudson and his brothers were nephews (by marriage) of actor Keenan Wynn. Hudson died in the United States after 1858.
