Yüan Yao, also known as Yuan Yao, was a renowned Chinese landscape painter who lived during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). Born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, China, Yuan Yao was part of an artistic family and took his art name as Niyuzhe. His courtesy name was Zhaodao, and he is known for his exceptional landscape paintings.
