Biography:

SEKISHITSU Zenkyu, also known as Zenkyū Sekishitsu, was a Japanese artist born in Chikuzen (the current northwestern part of Fukuoka), Japan. He was a Zen monk who studied under Kurin Seimu in Yuan China in 1318. SEKISHITSU Zenkyu is known for his artworks on artnet and his Chinese-style verse. He founded Heirin-ji temple in Niiza city, Saitama prefecture, Japan in 1375, which remains a training temple for monks and is considered a national monument. SEKISHITSU Zenkyu's artworks are preserved in various museums and collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the e-Museum in Japan.
