Josephus Augustinus Brentano's art gallery in his home on the Herengracht in Amsterdam. The collector Brentano and his guests view a load of the newly arrived Italian paintings. Among those present are the painter Adriaan de Lelie, Mr Van Eighteenhoven, Jan Kamphuysen and Jacques Kuyper. Also children and a dog on the left. The walls of the house are full of paintings.
