Portrait of Pieter Gerardus van Overstraten (1755-1801). Governor-General (1797-1801). Kneepiece, to the right, sitting in a seat with the right arm leaning on a table and with a command staff in the right hand, signaling with the left hand. The facial features modeled after a miniature portrait painted in Batavia by Joseph Gillis. Part of a series of portraits of the governors-general of the former Dutch East Indies.
