The tablet depicting St. Sigismund travelling to Agauno, amasterpiece by Agostino di Duccio from Tuscany, is completely foreign to theLombard context. Itwas originally located on the altar of the chapel dedicated to St. Sigismund inthe Malatesta Temple in Rimini, but was then moved to various locations untilit was acquired by the Accademia di Brera in 1812, and finally deposited atCastello Sforzesco.
