Domingo Pérez de Grandallana was Lieutenant General of the Spanish Royal Navy, and Minster of the Navy. Born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1753, he took part in several expeditions during his time in the navy. This included expeditions to Algiers and Brazil, battles against Great Britain, the blockade of Gibraltar, the battle against the French Republic, and the capture of the island of Santa Catalina, as well as assisting in the relief of Melilla.
