Artist: Corrado De Mochis
Size: 116 x 62 cm
Museum: Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano (Milan, Italy)
Technique: Panel
The panel depicts the Good Thief, one of the two criminals crucified alongside Jesus on the Golgotha. The panel was made in the mid-16th century by Corrado de Mochis from Cologne based on a cartoon by a German master. It is currently on display in the Duomo Museum - next to the twin panel depicting the Bad Thief - the work was originally to have been part of a grandiose scene of the Crucifixion, left unfinished at the beginning of the 16th century by Pietro da Velate for the large window V19, dedicated to the New Testament.
