A Napoleonic War Dutch Plateelbakkerij Delft or Pottery Bakery Delft commemorative plate is one of a set consisting of 14 plates. The pottery that made these, although they had Delft, a town in The Netherlands in their name was made in Amsterdam. Decorated in blue and red the plate commemorates all the leaders of the Netherlands between 1813 and 1913, startling with King Willem I, 1813-1840; King Willem II 1840-1849; King Willem III 1849-1890; Regent Emma 1890-1898; Queen Wilhelmina 1898 and her daughter Princess Juliana born 1909. In the center of the plate is a homage to being able to live the happy life of a civilian in Amsterdam. The plate was donated by Louise van Gybland Oosterhoff to the University of Pretoria in 1937.
