From the Artist: The pandemic spurred my creativity. I resigned from being a litigation lawyer in the field ofdomestic violence after 33 years in March 2020, the same time the world was closing due to the pandemic. A neighbor introduced me to alcohol inks previously and during the pandemic I have been experimenting with alcohol inks daily. They are abstract expressions, using color and fluidity. I sometimes portray forests and flowers in an abstract way. Alcohol inks are fun to watch when I do the piece, as the colors run into each other, creating amazing effects. I focused for 30 – 45 minutes daily, creating 5 x 7” pieces. Doing the art works distracted me and kept my mind off the pandemic and other bad news events during this time. Isend them to my friends and relatives as cards to cheer them up or wish them a happy birthday. When I was in Florida for a month taking care of my father, who has Parkinson’s Disease, he urged me even further to open up an Etsy account. I decided to do it, but donate the proceeds to Black Lives Matter.
