Museum: Sarmiento Historical Museum (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Technique: Oil On Canvas

Two-dimensional framed artwork. Still life. Representation of fruits: two red apples surrounded by thirteen ripe figs, arranged on a light-colored table, on a dark background. Cracked figs realistically show the degree of ripeness of the fruit. The painter played compositionally with the different colors of the elements. He alternated the reddish yellow of the apples with the green and blue-black of the different types of figs. The light falling from the right enhances the color distribution. the fruits and the support surface were made with touches of green, blue, red and yellow. The background was worked in a dark and compact tonality to highlight the central composition. Signature in the lower left corner and upper right corner.
