Many and different elements are placed on two sharp-edged stone steps. On the upper step from the left: a piece of parmesan cheese, pears, garlic, a basket with leaves, a fish, a copper container full of mushrooms, a jar, clumps of celery and a magpie. On the lower plank: onions, fishes, a cat, melons, a rabbit, a knife resting on the edge of the table top, celery, a low copper container, a watermelon. There are some ears of corn scattered around. The still-life is set inside a room, perhaps a pantry with a window in the left corner that opens onto a sky with cobalt blue clouds.
