Pilgrimage by Fernão Mendes Pinto....and in the last part, some brief news, and the death of father saint Francisco Xavier… the itinerary of António Tenreiro and the Conquest of the Kingdom of Pegu in 1601 under Viceroy Ayres de Saldanha.First published by Pedro Craesbeeck (Lisbon, 1614), the Peregrination by Fernão Mendes Pinto would have only one more Portuguese edition throughout the 17th century (1678) notwithstanding its 18 successive editions in Spanish, English, French and German during the same period.This is the fifth Portuguese edition.
