The centre of the oil painting depicts a woman with three children. The person wears a long, dark dress and a headscarf. In her right arm she holds a baby wrapped in cloths. With the left hand she holds the hand of a little girl who is dressed in dark clothes and a head scarf. On the left of the woman you can see a little boy with dark blue attire. The woman and the girl have their eyes to the ground, and the facial expression of the woman expresses feelings of sadness and anguish. The boy is crying and brings one hand to his eyes. In the background of the painting you can see women, in upright and kneeling postures, who have undefined facial characteristics. They appear to be in a pleading or grieving posture. Behind the group you can see red, orange, and yellow flames flickering to the sky. The bottom left bears the signature of the artist and the date 16/7/1985.
