Toy factory floors were fun and educational: they explained the mechanics of steam-driven industrial machines. Bing’s Cotton Mill accurately modeled the steam-powered machinery that replaced skilled but slower handwork in the textile industry after the Industrial Revolution. Exported to the United States, this is the only example of the toy known to exist.
