Artist: Giovanni Migliara
Size: 14 x 11 cm
Technique: Oil
Of these three miniatures in oils by Giovanni Migliara, only the first to some extent takes up the popular nineteenth-century representation of architecture in ruins (in this case, a portico, with a blazon and a sacred image). The other two are typically Milanese: in one, the present-day Via Falcone is shown in a flamboyant manner, full of people, with the apse of the church of San Satiro and, in the background, the spires of the Duomo. The other miniature takes us directly inside the Duomo, showing the interior from the apsidal ambulatory.
