Teresa Sommaruga (1861-1933) does not directly benefit the Ospedale Maggiore. Her daughter Luigia Macchi (1883-1993), in her will she named heir to the Ospedale Maggiore of a sum equal to 26 million lire (a portion of building in Via Lecco and many titles) asking for the maintenance of the family Funeral Chapel in the Famedio of the Monumental Cemetery and that, instead of her own, the commemorative portraits of her father Cesare and of the maternal grandfather Pietro Sommaruga are painted.
