Die Sitzstatue im Vestibül von Schloss Sanssouci zeigt die im Jahre 15 n. Chr. geborene Tochter des Germanicus und Schwester des Caligula, die später Frau des Kaisers Claudius und Mutter von Nero wurde. Es ist eine Marmorkopie nach dem antiken Original des 1. Jhs. im Nationalmuseum in Neapel, die 1846 von Heinrich Berges (1805-1852) geschaffen wurde. Berges war Schüler und Mitarbeiter von Christian Daniel Rauch (1777-1857) in Berlin. Er hatte sich neben den eigenen romantischen Bildwerken auch auf die Restaurierung und Kopie von Antiken spezialisiert und mehrere entsprechende Aufträge König Friedrich Wilhelms IV. von Preußen (1795-1861) ausgeführt. Dieser König war es auch, der die Aufstellung der Kopie im Vestibül von Schloss Sanssouci veranlasste, um einen antiken Merkur aus den Sammlung Bayreuth zu ersetzen, der zur Erstausstattung gehört hatte und 1830 an das neugegründete Königliche Museum zu Berlin abgegeben worden war.
