Sebron’s painting was the model for the large aquatint engraved by Friedrich Salathé for Goupil & Company, Paris and New York, in 1852. Sebron received the commission for the painting from William Schaus, Goupil’s New York agent. It is believed Sebron was travelling in the United States at the time.
