Museum: Musei Civici di Palazzo Farnese (Piacenza, Italy)

Technique: Oil On Canvas

This painting is the last one of the wedding series. It shows Elizabeth saying goodbye, before leaving, to his uncle and stepfather, duke Francis, who is surrounded by cardinal Acquaviva and court dignitaries. Spolverini went to Val di Taro to faithfully reproduce the real location of the farewell. He is a bright and faithful reporter of the parties, processions and events of the dukedom and he has an amazing ability to represent several figures, horses, carriages and sedan chairs
