Jacopino da Tradate was a sculptor well known in his lifetimeand prominent personality in the construction site of Milan Cathedral. His Madonnaand Child on display in Castello Sforzesco is of unknown origin and can bedated to around the 1420s. Itwas designed to be seen from all sides, as shown by the soft folds sculpted onthe back, and the fluid, abundant drapery envelops the body of the Virgin,almost hiding it.
