Wide face on the city of Constantinople and the surrounding landscape, from the Dutch embassy in Pera. In the foreground a terrace or viewpoint where some Westerners and Turks enjoy the view. A servant with a horse on the right. Vanmour painted the wide view from the embassy dining room, with on the left the Asian part of Istanbul and on the right the European part with on a hill the Topkapı Sarayı, the palace. The river in the foreground is the Golden Horn, with the Ottoman fleet. On the left is the Bosphorus.
