Sundress, below the knee made of crepe silk beige, straight cut, slightly flared. Decorated in silver dyed leather, embroidered with beads and wire. The dress summarizes the two styles by which Jean Patou was inspired to make his creations: Art Deco and Cubism. The straight line cutting, common in almost all items of the 20s, is found in Cubist geometry. In this case, eight horizontal bands are sewn together to shape the dress with flounces without pleating, alternating irregular curved leather pieces and thereon clear silver, glass beads. It is in this decoration that Art Deco is apparent. Patou also became the first to use the color beige as a basis for his dresses.
