The rich trading city of Augsburg has long been proud of its luxurious gold and silver products. Since the 16th century, there have been around hundred goldsmiths and silversmiths, whose works have been highly valued both in European churches and among the aristocracy. Augsburg cups, wine jugs, fireplace decorations, etc. are of excellent quality, precise workmanship and fine proportions. These are Empire-style pair of candlesticks, typical of their time.
