A lake in the form of a star-shaped octagon, its corners cut by small basins decorated with plant motifs. Designed by Robillion in 1764, it is the largest lake in the gardens of the Palace of Queluz.The sculptural group has the shape of a pyramid, presenting lead figures at the thirteen outlets for water in the central stone body, in the form of masks, boys riding on the back of dolphins, dragons and an eagle as the crowning glory.
