This locomotive is from a series of only two units of Belgian origin from Société John Cockerill and was purchased by the State Railway, to operate in the Minho e Douro networks, entering service in 1908. It was intended for suburban passenger train services, being confined to the Porto zone and in 1927, was transferred to Espinho. It was also used sporadically on freight services. It was removed from service in the late 1960s.
