Following a brief Hollywood career as a special effects designer, Keith Edmier went to New York in 1990 to develop as an artist. He worked with artists like Matthew Barney and Jeff Koons. His oeuvre is characterised by the combination of events from his personal life with those from American history. His work concentrates on the perception of youth and innocence from an adult perspective. In his sculptures, Edmier cites incidents that made a big impression, such as the assassinations of JFK and John Lennon. He also creates works that refer to life, death and sexuality, and plays with the personalities of popular icons, such as Evel Knievel, Farrah Fawcett and Janis Joplin.Jill Peters is a sculpture of his childhood sweetheart combined with aspects of the 1970s movie icon Farah Fawcett. She is totally preserved in virginal white and stands on a hill of snow, a clothed wax sculpture, about life-size, with white culottes, white turtleneck sweater, clunky white earth-shoes, and a cascade of feathery, blonde Farrah Fawcett hair.
