Beginning as an oil painter, Al-Kazi completed a degree at London’s Central School of Art and Design, where she absorbed herself in the techniques and skills involved in printmaking. After her graduation in 1961, Al-Kazi worked from her studio in London, holding exhibitions of her paintings and etchings in Europe and the Middle East until the 1970s when she relocated to Ibiza, Spain. Her more recent work, from the early 2000s experiments with digital media. Since the 1960s, Al-Kazi’s prints and paintings have been collected by multiple international institutions, notably including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and MoMA in New York.
