The artist intends for his works to resound psychologically with viewers by coaxing forth the memories of stories once heard and understood. When presented with rear views, a perspective often taken for granted, viewers are forced to reverse their thinking, from passively it at face value, to engaging in a more active and imaginative process of absorbing the work. These rear views spark an intimate dialogue characterized by endless imagination and ambiguity between the viewers and the artwork. How come no one has ever drawn a rear view of people or things?” This simple question has inspired the series “The And,” In his creative process, artist Page Tsou questions the relationship between works of art and the real world. These questions prompt him to reconsider contemporary values, and he thus experiments with various perspectives and worldviews.
