Peter Behrens, visionary and co-founder of the Deutscher Werkbund (German Association of Craftsmen), created this electric kettle for AEG (General electricity company) in 1909. The kettle is characterized by its lack of ornament and the simplicity of its shape. However, the electric kettle was not produced until 1922 by the Bing-Werke in Nürnberg, an AEG subsidiary.
