Production of fabrics was the economically most successful branch of the Wiener Werkstätte. It became particularly famous for its colorful, artistically groundbreaking printed fabrics in silk and linen. Many of the designers were women, e.g. Maria Likarz, Felice Rix-Ueno or Reni Schaschl, who created the here presented textile pattern. The production method of the textiles: designed in Vienna, printed in Switzerland often on Japanese silk, and finally sold in Vienna, Zurich, Berlin, New York, and other cities – additionally also shows that the Wiener Werkstätte fostered international relations.
