Sun Qifeng was born in 1920 in Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province. He graduated from the National Peiping Arts College in 1947. He is good at landscape painting, flower and bird painting, calligraphy and seal carving. After 1952, he taught in Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. He served as vice president and head of the Department. He is now an advisor and professor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, member of the Academy of Chinese Painting Research Institute of the Ministry of Culture, member of the Chinese Artists Association, member of the Chinese Calligrapher Association, and a member of the Academy of Chinese National Painting Academy.
