The picture is in the form of a standing rectangle. Two figures are depicted in the foreground: an old man playing a hurdy-gurdy and a young woman passing him. The man is dressed in a long light robe and dark high-top boots. On her knees she holds a hurdy-gurdy with a violin body. The instrument is brown in color, with clearly marked construction elements. On the left side of the painting, a young woman with a bundle on her back emerges, walking in front of the hurdy-gurdy. The woman is dressed in a long dark gray caftan and boots with high uppers. The colors of the painting are in gray and brown tones. The entire scene is shown on an autumn day. Picture signed lower right:
