The 18th century Biblia Sacra Vulgatæ Editionis from the Museum’s collection is in two volumes (Pars Prima – Old Testament and Pars Altera – New Testament). Both the books authored by J.B. Duhamel, belong to the second edition printed in Leuven, Belgium by Martin Van Overbreke and have introductions, notes, chronological, historical, and geographical tables. An interesting feature of these books written in Latin are the etchings of various biblical scenes done by various artists alongwith the accompanying descriptions which are in six different languages (Greek, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch). These books have been donated to the Museum of Christian Art, Goa by Canon Caetano da Cruz Fernandes from Benaulim.
