The provocative photograph with a shocking anatomical detail in the cut-out of one part of the head belongs to a wider cycle of computer-adapted and manipulated photographs named Views. There the artist as one of the first in domestic conditions, by means of new media evolved a topical (and not only feminist) theme of extreme manipulation with human body, both of its physical and psychical form. Thus she develops various great existential themes concentrated around the issue of suppressed individuality, hidden violence, virtual or physical abuse. Her photographs, which reveal openly e.g. the anatomy of the crotch, mouth or legs contribute to a wider discussion about the shifting borders of freedom and tyranny. By the choice of her subjects, her preference for self-portrait, and inclination to staged photography, Bromová may be compared to the American photographer Cindy Sherman (1954).
