A Picture of My Junior written in Yoon Dongju’s second manuscript notebook, “A Window.” The poet published this poem in the student section of Chosun Ilbo on October 17, 1938, under the name and affiliation of “Yoon Dongju from Yonhui.” His younger brother, Yoon Ilju, later revealed that the phrase “what will you grow up to be/you will be a person” from A Portrait of Little Brother was an actual conversation he had with his older brother, Yoon Dongju.
